Leo Myth/History of Name
- Leo is the Latin word for Lion
- The myth is of Hercules slaying the Nemean Lion as one of his twelve labors. The lion was terrorizing the land and it had skin that was impenetrable to metal, stone and wood. Hercules wrestled with his bare hands and strangled the lion. He wore the lion's pelt as a cloak. The lion then appeared into the sky.
